The new 2018 Hyundai Verna with 1.4-litre petrol engine has launched in India at a starting price of Rs 7.79 lakhs, making it 2 lakhs cheaper than the previous 1.6 litre version.

Hyundai Motors India has introduced the new 2018 Hyundai Verna with a new 1.4L Kappa Dual VTVT petrol engine, widening the options available in its popular Verna series. Named as Hyundai Verna 1.4L Petrol MT, the car is available in two variants – E and EX at a price of Rs 7.79 lakhs and Rs 9.09 lakhs respectively. Until now, Verna has been available with just a 1.6-litre petrol and diesel engine options, but the 1.4-litre petrol engine version will make it more affordable and buyers looking at compact sedan as this has brought down the price of the car. In fact, it is Rs 2 lakh cheaper than the 1.6-litre petrol version and will prove to be a value for money preposition.

There will be no change in the design or the dimensions of the new Verna, whatsoever; and the 2018 Verna will offer the same features in the same set of variants too. Hence providing customers an option to buy a Verna like product at a more affordable price, and as per Hyundai’s stats, the new car has already received 30,000 bookings in India along with over 2,00,000 enquiries; after all Verna is the most sold car by Hyundai in India. Since Hyundai India is the second largest exporter of cars, 10,500 units of the new 1.4-litre engine Verna have been exported into global market.

Under the hood, the car is powered by a 1,368cc Kappa Dual VTVT petrol engine that is capable of producing 99 BHP of maximum power at 6000 RPM while developing and torque of 132 Nm at 4000 RPM. The new Verna has 6-speed manual transmission gearbox and the engine is tuned to deliver an improved fuel economy of 19.1 KMPL (8% increase). So it is a perfect combination of performance and fuel efficiency and showcases Hyundai’s commitment to provide products based on customers’ aspirations.
