Kolkata: As Amitabh Bachchan’s Sarkar 3 strike the screen interfaces on Friday, a life-size statue associated with the megastar has been installed at a temple in Kolkata by All Bengal Amitabh Bachchan Fans’ Association.

The sculpture happens to be toned by Subrata Bose.

“We have installed the 25-kg statue at a temple dedicated to Bachchan after offering prayers for his film’s success,” ABFA state secretary Sanjay Patodiya said.

“The six-feet-two-inches tall fibreglass statue is a bit higher than the actual height of the Shahenshah. We did it to make it visually appealing,” he added.

Followers today, including members of the association, ended up in vast quantities outfitted as Bachchan’s character, Subhash Nagre, through the Ram Gopal Varma-directed movie.

The fibreglass sculpture which was mounted to tag the actors 75th birth anniversary – which falls on October 11 – cost some Rs 1 Lakh.

Sarkar’s achievements depend on Amitabh Bachchan’s charm, and he knows his character by heart. Despite over-chewed dialogues when you look at the opening sequence, he holds our attention. The same can be said about Ronit Roy who glitters in an emotional confrontation with Nagre.

Ram Gopal Varma is one step nearer to restore his impact. Veerappan revealed he is not out from the game, and Sarkar 3 recommends he could be on a reappearance. He must also be lauded for an excellent ensemble cast.
