Actor Akshay Kumar, who has won the National Film Award for Best Actor for Rustom, feels incredible to have won the most prestigious honour of the nation. I don’t think anything can top this National Award win, says Akshay Kumar on winning the National Award.
This year has a place with actor Akshay Kumar. While his motion pictures are setting the money enlist ringing in the cinematic world, the actor himself has won the National award for Best actor for Rustom, a film inexactly in light of Nanavati case. The 64th National Film Awards for the movies discharged in 2016 were proclaimed on Friday.
“Of course, 2016 has been fantastic, I couldn’t have asked for more… I guess there was more (referring to the award).. I don’t think anything can top this National Award win,” he says.
While different champs are caught up with arranging parties, Kumar is occupied with shooting his next project.
“It is great news. National Film awards are the most prestigious awards in the country. It is a moment of pride for sure. The first reaction, honestly, was if this was a late April Fool’s joke (laughs)! Actually, I am still trying to process this win, it is a mix of many emotions – surprise, happiness and, most prominently, gratitude to the jury, makers of the film, my parents and of course the beloved fans ,” says Kumar
On other side, he do not give much weight on his success by enjoying or partying. His stardom consist “be honest with his work and would give it his best to people who trust him”.
“Itna keh sakta hun mai ki ye award bhi maine imandari se jita hai. Maine aaj tak cheating nahi ki. Neither have I ever made a call to anyone to win an award nor have given money or done favours for it,” says Akshay Kumar.
The actor, who is married to author Twinkle Khanna, the little girl of veteran actors Dimple Kapadia and (late) Rajesh Khanna, frequently jokes that his wife telss him that her parents are a National Award winner, however, he doesn’t get awards. Indeed, looks like witty Twinkle should think about another joke.
