The Central Govt. of India is all set to expand its income tax department and custom and excise departments for the much-needed manpower to fray black money and reinforce the implementation of Goods and Service Tax in India.
Deriving from the Budget passed by the Central Government of India, the size of its staff is likely to increase by 2.80 lakhs. The new recruits will help the Government in fighting against black money and implementing taxes post demonetisation.
More than 1.80 lakhs will be recruited in police, income tax, customs and excise departments. The present size of Income Tax department is 46,000 which will be increased to 80,000. Customs and excise department will go from 50,600 to 91,700 by 2018. There will be no change in the railway department according to the Budget annexure reviews.
The Budget scopes for expansion of Foreign Ministry from 9294 to 11,403 and the cabinet secretariat will rise up from 921 to 1,218 by next year. And the Information and Broadcast Ministry grow to 6258 by 2018.
