Bollywood film Dhadak, starring two newbies – Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter has got off rolling start in box office with a rocking start with a smashing box-office collection about to cross Rs 30 crore benchmark in the opening week.

Janhvi Kapoor’s first movie, Dhadak has already crossed the mark of Rs 20 crore in the first week of release with first day collection of Rs 8.71 crore, followed by a bigger second day with a collection of Rs 11 crore – making a total of Rs 19.75 crore in just two days. And now Shashank Khaitan’s remake of Nagarjun Manjule’s epic movie Sairat, Dhadak is about to cross the mark of Rs 30 crore in the first week of opening. The Dhadak collection are the highest ever for the opening weekend of a film starring new faces, including Johar’s own Student Of The Year (Rs 25.6 crore) and Tiger Shroff’s Heropanti (Rs 20.86 crore) – setting new records.

Furthermore, the movie is expected to perform better by the end of the coming week and is being well received overseas with an impressive collection of Rs 5.9 crore in first week. Even the Bollywood critics believed that Sridevi’s daughter Janhvi’s first feat Dhadak has had a noticeable growth in terms of viewership and will attract more viewers in coming days. It won’t be wrong to say that Shashank Khaitan’s remake of the Nagarjun Manjule’s Sairat may not have given complete justice in terms of acting but the box-office collection, it’s undoubtedly following Sairat.

Late actress Sridevi’s daughter, Janhvi Kapoor’s first movie Dhadak, a remake of Sairat, the Marathi super hit at the film was so loved that cinemas played extra shows at midnight and 3 am to fulfill the demands of viewers. While Dhadak is the same themed story of two lovers, Parthavi Singh played by Janhvi Kapoor and Madhukar Bagla played by Ishaan Khatter, belonging to different communities might not be to the mark of Sairat, but it is still an epic performance for the entrees to start off with.
