The first look for another awaited Sanjay Leela Bhansali – Padmavati is out and it is a special treat to all Deepika Padukone fans, just on the very first day of Navratri.

After quite some controversies, here we have the official first look of upcoming Bollywood movie – Padmavati, with not just one, but two posters featuring Deepika Padukone as Rani Padmavati. Adorned in Rajasthani royal fiery, Deepika surely sets sights to behold for a moment there – with every inch of her look shouting ‘REGAL’ which adds to Deepika’s own persona commanding respect and attention. It is probably a perfect Navratri gift from Deepika to her fans – get dress-inspired, people.

In the movie, Deepika will be obviously playing the role of a Rajasthani queen named Rani Padmini or Padmavati of Chittod, accompanied by co-stars Ranveer Singh as Alauddin Khilji and Shahid Kapoor as Raja Rawal Ratan Singh. When it comes to film’s story lines, we can’t get enough of those historic, royal, regal stories with action, war games, politics and not forgetting romance – since it is a Bollywood must. But the look somehow gives a deja-vu from Deepika’s role as Mastani from Bajirao Mastani – which is again a Bhansali movie, also with Ranveer Singh as co-star! Talk about coincidences, or rather repetition?

Talking about Deepika’s look in the two posters, well it can’t get any more traditional or any richer than what she looks. Decked up with a traditional ethnic lehenga which was designed using traditional zardosi and is symbolic of Tree of Life – the man’s connection to the cosmos and a warrior’s strength. The dress was designed by Delhi-based fashion designers – Rimple and Harpreet Narula, if you really want to get the dress real bad. But what was louder than the dress was Deepika’s uni-brow, it is so into her face and I wonder what it is about, there must be a story.

So the movie that has been directed by dear Mr Bhansali is touted to dramatize the events that occurred back in 1303 Chittor fort of Rajasthan, which is pretty exciting – will be released on December 1st, 2017. Wait for the show till then.
