The results for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2018 exams have been declared by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati on their official website, on Friday (March 16).
Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is the annual exams for all those who wish to join master’s and direct doctoral programmes in engineering, technology, architecture and in other branches of science at Indian Institute of Science and all IITs. This year’s GATE exam was conducted on February 3, 4, 10 and 11 and the results for the exam were officially declared by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati on their official website, on Friday. The results have been made available for candidates on GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS) website, appsgate.iitg.ac.in
However, it must be noted that the GATE 2018 scorecard will be made available for the qualified candidates on March 20 on the official results website of the exam; and can be downloaded from March 20, 2018 to May 31, 2018 from the GOAPS portal. No hard copies of the scorecard will be issued, hence it is necessary to download the result which is valid for three years from the date of announcement of the results.

- Log in to the official website or click on , iitg.ac.in
- Enter necessary data in the form which includes your enrolment ID/email address, password and Captcha code.
- On hitting the submit button, your results will be declared.
- Don’t forget to download the result and take a printout for future reference.
GATE exams aren’t all about IITs, IISc and PSUs – it is accepted by international institutions like the National University of Singapore (NUS) and Nanyang Technical University (NTU) for post-graduation admission. Also, universities like RWTH Aachen and TU Munich of Germany have made GATE score mandatory for Indian nationals to be considered for admission to post graduate courses. This year’s topper is Jyotiranjan Barik, in agricultural engineering paper, with an overall score of 959.
