Say hello to Android O

The star of IO, as is tradition, would be the latest flavour of Android. Following in alphabetic order – Android Nougat is the most current release – Google will officially welcome Android O come May.

Although we do not know the second version of Android’s official name yet (are we set for another public submission process?), Android Oreo appears to be the front-runner right now.

What will probably happen is Google will speak about its next mobile OS update at IO, yet hold off launching it till later into the year. Considering Android 7.0 Nougat did not publicly release until August 2016, this may of times be the situation with Android O.
