Maruti Suzuki launched the 2017 Dzire sedan with the starting price of Rs 5.45 lakh. Dzire, being one of the most consistently sold models of the company, is expected to be sold like hot-cross buns.

Today, India’s largest car maker Maruti Suzuki India launched the all new version of its compact sedan – Dzire which is priced starting from Rs 5.45 – 9.41 lakh ex-showroom price. The petrol variant begins at Rs 5.45 lakh and goes up to Rs 8.41 lakh. Diesel variant begins at Rs 6.45 lakh and goes up to Rs 9.41 lakh. Maruti spent Rs 1,000 crore to develop the new Dzire. The bookings for new Dzire had been opened earlier this month at a token amount of Rs 11,000 and Maruti said that the response has been strong because of what is on offer at the price tag.

The predecessor of this car – the Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire was launched back in 2008 and has been a successful model on Indian roads. But the 2017 version does not have the ‘Swift’ badge and is based on HEARTECT platform which promises to make the car lighter, stronger, more rigid and safer. The car gets Auto Gear Shift (AGS) technology for both petrol and diesel variants. Dzire continues to use the old model’s powertrains – the 1.2-litre VVT petrol and the 1.3-litre DDiS diesel.

The car looks quite refreshed with its makeover, thanks to the all-new head lights, front-grille and generous additions of chrome. The interiors too look quite well-built with urbane satin chrome and burl wood ornamentation and tech additions like Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Dzire 2017 will compete with cars like Hyundai Xcent, Honda Amaze, Ford Aspire and Volkswagen Ameo of the same segment.

So if you are planning to buy the all new Maruti Suzuki Dzire 2017, you may want to know that it already commands a waiting period of 8 weeks. The car is available in a total of eight variants and six colours. Way of life!
