Amidst growing unemployment in India, one of the premier institutes – Indian Institute of Technology aka IITs successfully placed over 1500 students into the MNCs and high-level companies as there were 25% more company at IITs for hiring engineering graduates this year.

According to IIT Kharagpur, it has received over 250 job offers for their graduates since the placement season started. The placement season started from Saturday, so IIT Kharagpur has managed to place over 250 graduates since Saturday. This figure is above the 256 pre-placement offers, which students managed to bag before the placement started. These PPOs were offered on the base of the performance of the students during the internship. Counting the PPOs with the recently placed students, the figure goes beyond 500.

After IIT Kharagpur, IIT Delhi and IIT Bombay also reported over 250 students getting hired in the campus recruitment. At IIT Kharagpur, giant technology firms like EXL hired 35 students, while Intel hired 29 students from the institute. IIT Madras and IIT Roorkee also reported of over 215 offers at the campus recruitment. Microsoft was at the top of hiring maximum graduates at IIT Roorkee. Microsoft hired 31 graduates from IIT Roorkee. Apart, from those IITs, IIT Kanpur and IIT Guwahati too reported of the high demand of their students in the recruitment campus.

“In the last one and half days, we have received 310 confirmed jobs. The response is really good”, said Syam Nair, head of placement, IIT Kanpur. Among all the IITs, students of IIT Delhi will have ample choices of companies to join. At least 350 firms have confirmed that they will hire graduates from IIT Delhi alone. So, the placement figure is likely to go up even further.
