Okay, so this is freaking amazing – Indian women’s cricket team has just uprooted Australian team from the grand series of Women’s World Cup 2017 by 36 runs and has entered the finale of WWC Series, with absolute pride.
You know how some people call cricket a “men’s” game? Especially in India, most of the hypocrite men think they are the ‘men’ and criticise women’s cricket team. Well, here’s one cheer to all those ‘men’, the Indian women’s team has made it to the World Cup finale. And the team is on the verge of beginning a women’s cricket revolution after drowning Australian team by a huge difference of 36 runs! If the gals rule over the England team on 23rd July at Women’s World Cup finale, it will prove to be pivotal for women’s cricket in India.
Soon after the victory against Australia, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced that they will reward the entire team for receiving this triumph. The star of the match against Australia was India’s vice-captain Harmanpreet Kaur which rattled the opposition team with a whirlwind 171 runs off 115 balls that included 20 fours and seven sixes not only reminded cricket fans about that Kapil Dev’s knock, but manage to produced one of the greatest ever ODI knocks in women’s cricket helping India storm into the ICC World Cup final.
Watching the thunderous performance, Twitter was poured with lauds, applauds and appraisals for Harmanpreet who is a seasoned player with great experience while she played at Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL) for Sydney Thunders. This experience gave her a familiarity with the Australian style and attacks, and hence with all her energy was the epic whirlwind performance. We hope that Indian team hits at Wales on Sunday against England to clinch the Women’s World Cup and make the country proud.
