Back with the fifer, the Blues of India have pulled off the biggest victory in the history of Test match by 272 runs and an inning in the first Test against West Indies in Rajkot.

The Indian cricket team and the West Indies team came face to face in the pitch at Rajkot for the first Test match of the series, and after a number of loses, the Indian team has returned to its smashing swing. The Blues, in full throttle, dominated the game with a staggering score of 649 for nine wickets in the first innings, while the Indies, compelled to follow the force, managed to bat 377 runs before being bowled out the twice on dday three.

With this, India took a 1-0 lead in the two match test series and marked the biggest test match win ever booked by the Indian team with an amassing margin of 272 runs and an inning on hand. This was also India’s 100th Test win at home that kept the record of remaining unbeaten by West Indies in a Test since 2002. And the star of the match prowess from the Indian team were – R Ashwin, the main tormentor in the morning session Kuldeep Yadav in the second innings of the Test.

For India, this Test season will be remembered not just for getting back in the swing, but also for entry of Prithvi Shaw in international cricket with a classy 100 score in his international debut to become the youngest player to have achieved the feat. While for West Indies, the woes might continue even in the second test match at Hyderabad that will be played from October 12 to 16, especially in absence of captain Jason Holder and pacer Kemar Roach. All they have to do is withstand the torment of Indian team and lift themselves to put up a better performance after being outplayed in Rajkot – for an even in the Test.
