India beat Bangladesh by 7 wickets with 82 balls to spare and sealed an easy win against Bangladesh and booked their third consecutive one-day victory and the first in the super 4 stage against Bangladesh in the Asia Cup tournament in Dubai on Friday.

Indian captain Rohit Sharma who won the toss and opted to field first, inviting Bangladesh batsmen to put their batting skills at work on the field. During the first half of the game, no Bangladeshi batsmen reached the score of fifty in entire innings. Openers Liton Das and Nazmul Hossain tried to give a steady start to the innings, but Liton das was trapped by Bhuvaneshwar Kumar in the fifth over followed, and Nazmul Hossain became the victim of Jasprit Bumrah in the sixth over – all not just for work by also for users.

However, Bangladesh skipper Mashrafe Mortaza along with Mehidy Hasan Miraz tried to enhance the score by establishing an eight wicket partnership of 66 runs between them but it was all too late for the team to register a big score on the board as most of the Bangladeshi batsmen had given up scoring too little for the team. Finally, Bangladesh collapsed for a mere 173 in the final over of their innings with Mehidy Hasan Miraz making 42 runs to be the top scorer for the team. From India, Ravindra Jadeja who made a comeback to the one-day squad after a year made his presence felt by grabbing four important wickets for 29 runs and played an anchor role in breaking the backbone of Bangladeshi batting line up. He was ably supported by Bhuvaneshwar Kumar and Jasprit Bumrah who took 3 wickets each.

Chasing 174 to win, it was an easy ride for Indian top order batsmen who possessed class and capability to chase down the total. Indian openers Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan gave a solid start to the inning with an opening partnership of 61 runs as Dhawan got out for 40 in the 15th over. Thereafter, Indian skipper Rohit Sharma kept the scoreboard ticking scoring an unbeaten 83 for himself which were well supported by Ambati Rayudu, M S Dhoni and Dinesh Karthik to successfully chase the total in the 37th over of the match with 7 wickets to spare. Ravindra Jadeja was named as the player of the match for his excellent performance with the ball and contributing in an easy win for the Indian team.
