Banihal: Indian spinner Parvez Rasool has inaugurated cricket academy for the people of Jammu & Kashmir to nurture and promote the local talents of the state. It is sponsored by Indian Army.

The cricket academy is located in Lower Gund area of the Banihal. During the inauguration, hundreds of local people attended the ceremony along with young cricketers, applauded the efforts of the Indian Army.

The cricket academy is equipped with full-fledged international standard imported turf pitch along with other amenities. Apart from this, Parvez has some premiere planning by organising the J&K’s long-waited Banihal Premier League and various another local cricket tournament.

Parvez inaugurated the fifth edition of the tournament in which 32 teams are participating.

Parvez Rasool is working hard to make comeback in Indian Cricket Team and this project will help him in many ways where J&K people are unaware of the importance of sports in one’s life. Rasool is keen to develop sports in the state and he is active enough to start and manage such projects.

“I will be performing well and giving opportunity in the team is in the hands of the selectors,” said Parvez.

Parvez, who is the first cricketer from J&K to represent India, has played one One-Day International (ODI) and one T20I. The star J&K cricketer has been part of Royal Challengers Bangalore and Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League (IPL) as well.
