Indian Foreign Secretary meets US security personnel to discuss security and terrorism related issues, bilateral policies that can be adopted to resolve and enhance the issues. Also, the security of Indian Immigrants in the US will be the main concern of the FS.

Foreign Secretary Jaishankar S. left for the four-day visit at the US and met the U.S National Security Advisor Lt. Gen. H. R. McMaster on Wednesday to discuss bilateral relations between the two countries and also plans to counter terrorism together.

During relation transition period between the two countries, Jaishankar also attended a working lunch with US Under Secretary Thomas Shannon. He is in the US with thesecurity of Indian immigrants in the country on the top his agenda, President Donald Trump finally condemned the shooting of an Indian in Kansas last week during his maiden address to the US Congress. However, it was clear from his speech that he was ceaseless about the decision of tightening the immigration rules.

Jaishankar also met the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Paul Ryan to discuss economic and defence issues and ways of enhancing them. “The relationship between the U.S. and India is rooted in shared values of democracy and freedom.We had a great opportunity today to build on this critical partnership by discussing ways to enhance our economic and defensecooperation.” Mr. Ryan said in a statement.
