Prior to the UN General Assembly meeting at New York, Indian Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj met Ivanka Trump and discussed about women entrepreneurship and upcoming GES in India.

White House advisor, American entrepreneur and US President Donald Trump’s daughter Ivanka Trump met Indian Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj on the side-lines of United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York today. They are said to have discussed about the importance of women entrepreneurship and also talked about the workforce required in India to empower more women into businesses. Ivanka is scheduled to visit India in November for attending the Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES) in Hyderabad.

GES is an important business event initiated by former US President Barack Obama in 2015 to bridge gaps between foreign businessmen and boost international trade and business. It is basically an annual gathering of emerging entrepreneurs, investors, and business leaders from around the world. This year’s GES will be co-hosted by India and US at Hyderabad from November 28 to 30, and Ivanka Trump will be leading US delegation after invitation from PM Modi. Ivanka has been preaching about women entrepreneurship across the world, including Saudi Arabia and has even been funding for UN funds which help budding entrepreneurs of under-developed countries.

Soon after the meeting, Ivanka took it to Twitter to the two had ‘a great discussion’ on women entrepreneurship and also that Swaraj is a ‘charismatic and accomplished’ foreign minister. Sushma Swaraj has arrived at New York and is scheduled to address speech at UNGA on September 23rd. Meanwhile, she has already met ministers of Bahrain, UAE, Denmark and Latvia. In her week-long stay at New York, Swaraj is scheduled to make 15-20 bilateral meetings, few trilateral as well as multilateral meetings.
