Have you been missing the Gunther’s mocha brew form Central Park or laughing as you play the 90s episodes of ‘F.R.I.E.N.D.S’ for the zillionth time and wishing for a remake of the epic show that was beyond just a show? Well, Jennifer Aniston, the actress who played the role of Rachel Greene in the TV show has hinted the possibility of a reunion during Ellen DeGeneres’ show!
It has been 15 years since Chandler Bing, Monica Geller, Joey Tribbiani, Rachel Greene, Ross Geller and Phoebe Buffay left their keys on the counter of Monica’s apartment; and it still feels like tomorrow. All these years after, FRIENDS fans are still replaying the TV show that has touched their lives and has been a reason for making them laugh, even in times they really couldn’t. After all these years, people are still hoping for chances of the show being remade, but somehow, it didn’t seem to be happening as half of the FRIENDS cast have disagreed with the reunion. The reason? They say that the show was too great and making a reunion is risky as the story was about people in their 20s and 30s – now, they are in their 40s and 50s and the same storyline would rather end up being a sad story.
However, looks like there might be a chance for reunion after Jennifer Aniston aka Rachel Greene hinted the possibility recently. The 48-year-old actress visited long-time friend Ellen DeGeneres for part two of her birthday show – “The Ellen DeGeneres Show”. Jennifer and Ellen talked about how they have known each other since so many years. The actress also gave some details on her new TV series with actress Reese Witherspoon. However, the subject of talks eventually turned into one of the signature TV shows, FRIENDS, of course. First, Ellen began using the signature clap that was a part of The Rembrandts’ “I’ll Be There For You.” Next, the talk show host asked her about the possibility of the cast of Friends getting back together.
Ellen asked Aniston what everyone has always been wondering about a reunion: “Is it even in the realm of possibility?” In contrast with responses so far, Jennifer said, “Anything is a possibility, Ellen. Anything! Right? I mean, George Clooney got married… That’s like an anything can happen.” So yes, anything can really happen. FRIENDS, aired from 1994 to 2004 starring Jennifer Aniston, Courtney Cox, Mathew Perry, Matt LeBlanc, Lisa Kudrow and David Schwimmer – was and still is, one hell of a show. And a reunion would be nothing short of a dream coming true; because either you are a die-hard fan of FRIENDS, or you haven’t watched it yet – there’s no third possibility.
