The Karnatka by-election 2018 results is out and the Congress-JDS alliance has clinched 4 out of 5 seats and the winners are currently citing the victory of coalition in the election is the blueprint of upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
The Congress-JDS alliance won the Ballari and Mandya parliamentary seats, and also won the amkhandi and Ramanagara assembly seats in the Karnataka by-elections 2018. Whereas BJP won the Shivamogga, which is a stronghold of its state chief BS Yeddyurappa – scoring only one of the five contesting seats for the latest elections. The election result might not be significantly important in terms of number of seats, but it is considered to be a huge matter of prestige for both the BJP and the ruling Congress-JDS alliance especially just few months after assembly election in the state and upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
The good performance by the allied coalition in by-polls is a boost for the ruling Congress-JDS that was already facing questions of longevity. The Congress has now gained momentum and say that their target now is to win 28 Lok Sabha seats in the much-awaited Lok Sabha elections.
