Gisele Bündchen has been the world’s highest-paid model since 2002, but this is the first time in 15 years that it is not Gisele, instead, 22-year-old Kendall Jenner has hit the top-notch position in the list of world’s highest paid model by net income worth $22 million this year.

Kendall Jenner, a part of the Kardashian family has beaten Gisele Bündchen, Chrissy Teigen, Adriana Lima and Gigi Hadid to become Forbes’ highest paid model in the whole world for 2017. Perhaps, this is the first time in 15 long years that Gisele didn’t claim the accolade of being Forbes’ highest paid model. At a mere age of 22, Kendall Jenner has taken the top spot, with her earnings more than doubling since last year from $10 million to $22 million – whereas Gisele scores just $17.5 million in 2017. And it has been a hullabaloo year for Jenner with tons of offers from fashion industry mammoths.

Jenner has already walked for Alexander Wang, Fendi, Chanel, Marc Jacobs and many others this year along with taking part in advertising campaigns for Estee Lauder and Adidas.  Thanks to an Instagram account that lets her disseminate advertisements to 85 million followers, Jenner tallied a career-best total in the 12 months to June from favourable deals. Apart from that, paycheques from her family’s reality TV show, her Kendall + Kylie clothing line with her sister, Kylie Jenner, and numerous social media endorsements juice her modelling money.

This year has been so fruitful for Kendall that she has edged out Bündchen, the 37-year-old who still poses for Carolina Herrera fragrance and Arezzo shoes and Vivara jewelry in her native Brazil. But seems like fewer campaigns have led Bündchen’s income to a dip of 43% from 2016’s $30.5 million total, yet she still holds the seconds position in Forbes list. Rounding up to the top three is Chrissy Teigen ($13.5 million), who joins the list for the first time. Again, thanks to the grandiose social media following, her former ‘Sports Illustrator’ cover girl post and a foodie mints millions from deals beyond fashion, including adverts with beverage brands such as Vita Coco and Smirnoff.
