Kriti Shannon and Kartik Aaryan starrer Luka Chuppi has touched down to Rs 40.03 crore box office collection in first four days since release, and is all set to hit the records of half a century – proving to be the highest opening film for Aaryan.
The classic Bollywood romantic film Luka Chuppi, revolving around the story of a couple – Guddu, who is a TV reporter and Rashmi, a girl from a political family. The movie is based on a common love-story genre, yet brings out the interesting twist by exploring the concept of live-in relationships in smaller towns of India – where they are usually frowned upon – has managed to captivate the young audience. Perhaps the interesting story of Luka Chippi has paved a path for the film, despite parallel release with Abhishek Chaubey’s dacoit drama Sonchiriya.
The Laxman Utekar directed Luka Chuppi was well received by audience in three days of its release on March 1, with a total box office collection of Rs 32.13 crore in its first weekend. And the partial-holiday for Maha Shivratri on Monday gave the movie an extra performance booster, standing with a four day box office collection of Rs 40.03 crore and comfortably heading towards half the century soon. This has become the highest-earning film for actor Kartik Aaryan, who has previously starred in Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety (Rs 26.57 crore) and Pyaar Ka Punchnama (Rs 22.75 crore).

Thanking the audience for the love and support, Kartik took it to Twitter, saying, ” Thank you for giving me my best weekend ❤ #SoldOut I tried to do something new post #Sonu and the amount of love that has been showered upon the film and Guddu is unreal… Thank you for accepting #Guddu ❤ Keep watching #LukaChuppi Saparivaar”. For the film, it may not have pleased all Bollywood critics with the less-daunting storyline; but the box office collections are a proof that the movie has impressed the rom-com fans.
