Anukreethy Vas, a student from Tamil Nadu has been crowned as the winner of India’s largest beauty pageant – the 55th edition of Femina Miss India World 2018.

The Femina Miss India World is an annual beauty pageant, which is considered to be India’s largest beauty pageant and leads its winner to participate in Miss World competition each year. The winner of 55th Femina Miss India World 2018 is a 19-year-old student hailing from Tamil Nadu – Anukreethy Vas, who beat 30 contestants and bagged the title of Miss India World 2018 on Tuesday. Anukreethy became the 55th Miss India World and is followed by first runner-up was Meenakshi Chaudhary from Haryana and second runner-up Shreya Rao from Andhra Pradesh.

At the grand star-studded fashion and beauty event, Miss World 2017 Manushi Chhillar crowned her successor Anukreethy with the glittering beauty crown at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Indoor Stadium in Mumbai. All 30 contestants from different states were groomed by Neha Dhupia, Rakul Preet Singh, Pooja Chopra and Pooja Hegde. In the contest, they went through tough rounds and the tricky questions from judges in the grand finale proved the aptitude and approach of all participants. Above all the tests, the contestants were judged by keen-eyed personalities like Malaika Arora, Bobby Deol, Kunal Kapoor, cricketer Irfan Pathan, fashion designer Gaurav Gupta and of course – Manushi Chhillar, the proud Miss World 2017.

About Anukreethy, she is pursuing a BA degree in French at Loyola College of Chennai, Tamil Nadu and has been raised by a single mother. Miss India 2018 dreams of becoming a translator to fulfil her mother’s dream, but she truly wants to become a supermodel and pursue career in the fashion and film industry, as she loves to face camera. The young starlet loves to sing, dance and is also a state level athlete, with an interest in riding bikes. Achieving the feat in India, Anukreethy Vas will now be preparing to represent India at Miss World 2018.
