Indian women’s cricket team’s former captain Mithali Raj scored her second straight half-century to win the T20I match against Ireland at ICC Women’s World Twenty20. And with this, she just became India’s highest T20I run scorer, even ahead of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma.

With her and her team’s effort, India entered the tournament’s semi-finale for only the third time ever. With all these achievements, Mithali has become one of the most successful female cricket players in India, for which she has been honoured with prestigious awards like the Arjuna award in 2003, and the Padma Shri award in 2015.

In the list of T20I runners, Kohli is followed by current Indian women’s cricket team captain Harmanpreet Kaur with a score of 1827 runs; and Suresh Raina is fifth and former India skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni is on the sixth.
