Shiv Sena leader Aaditya Thackrey is pushing CM Devendra Fadnavis to grant the permission for Mumbai establishments and shops to remain open for whole night on New Year, and also at cities like Thane, Pune and Navi Mumbai.
Once again, Mumbai might remain open 24×7 on New Year’s Eve as Shiv Sena youth wing chief Aditya Thackeray wants to give Mumbai a present. Thakrey is pushing the Maharashtra government to remain open all night on New Year citing country’s financial and entertainment hub need “more space and time to unwind after hours of work”. Thakrey also stated that, “what is legal during the day, cannot be illegal at night” as the main motto for pushing relaxed nightlife in Mumbai since past three or four years.
Along with Mumbai, Shiv Sena’s Maharashtra head Uddhav Thackeray’s son Aditya has also called for cities like Thane, Navi Mumbai and Pune should be allowed to keep their shutters up all night on New Year. As far back as 2013, the young Sena leader had sought for Mumbai 24-hour cafes, restaurants and convenience stores for “some chilling time post work.”
