After visiting Cyprus on Tuesday, President Kovind arrived at Bulgaria on Wednesday and addressed a speech to the Indian community residing in the country. Calling the Indian community of Bulgaria to be a living bridge between India and Bulgaria and a true reflection of India’s diversity, traditions and culture, the President applauded and thanked all attendees. With a trip to Bulgaria, Kovind became the fifth Indian President to visit Bulgaria and the first in 15 years.

President Kovind was also hosted by Bollywood actors Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt in Sofia (Bulgaria), where they are filming Brahmastra in Bulgaria. Pictures from Ram Nath Kovind’s visit to Brahmastra sets were also shared by the President’s official Twitter account. On Thursday, President Kovind and his wife arrived at Czech Republic and are currently in Prague to attend an Indian community reception. To the president’s surprise, the India-Czech Sinfonietta Orchestra played a special tune – the Kishore Kumar classic ‘Pal Pal Dil ke Paas’ in Prague.

The motive behind President’s three-nation European visit is to take forward India’s diplomatic relations with European countries. The trade between India and the Czech Republic keeps up to an average of USD 1.07 billion every year. Considering the fact that Czech Republic is a fast-growing European economic storehouse and is technologically advanced and strategically located in Central Europe, India is eyeing more business in future.
