The royal couple Prince Harry and Hollywood actress Meghan Markle got married in a much hyped fanfare on May 19 this year and the Kensington Palace has just announced that they are expecting a royal baby in Spring 2019.
Now known as the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle – the wife of Duke of Sussex Prince Harry is expecting a baby in the spring of 2019. The announcement was made by the Kensington Palace official Twitter handle as the royal couple went ahead with their Pacific tour today. The official statement says that, “The Royal Highnesses the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are very pleased to announce that the Duchess of Sussex is expecting a baby in the spring of 2019.”

Another tweet from the Kensington Palace says that, “Their Royal Highnesses have appreciated all of the support they have received from people around the world since their wedding in May and are delighted to be able to share this happy news with the public.” While the good news comes just few months after the royal wedding in May, Meghan had earlier described how motherhood was on her “bucket list”; and just two months before her wedding, she had also joked about it when she shown an innovative range of baby products: “I’m sure at some point we’ll need the whole (lot)”. And even Prince Harry has often spoken of his desire to have children.
While the news of the royal baby has spread across the UK and good wishes are pouring down from fans and well-wishers, the Google search engine saw a spike of “when is spring?” searches soon after the announcement. Also, within just a few minutes of the news being announced, bookmakers were offering odds on the baby’s name, with Diana, James, Arthur and Victoria emerging as the early favourites. And if you are still wondering – spring is from March to June.
