A Salman Khan film is nothing less than a festival for the legion of fans and this time it is about a Kabir Khan directed film – Tubelight. After nearly a week of frenzy, the teaser of the much-awaited movie is released officially and the superstar is once again playing the role of a simple man with a heart of gold. Déjà vu? So the question is, will Tubelight be able to recreate the magic of Bajrangi Bhaijaan? (Is that even a question!)

Tubelight is once again set up against the India-China war backdrop and from the teaser, it looks like Khan is the hope of peace in the war torn country. What is refreshingly different about Tubelight is that its backdrop takes a detour from the popular India vs Pakistan narrative and ventures into the Sino-Indian War of 1962 and was extensively shot in Ladakh and Manali. The teaser depicts the life of a man who is loved by many; although the character flicks from being an innocent guy to a trainee at army, it is pretty much hard to know what exactly the movie will be. But it seems to be a treat, all over again.

Ahead of the trailer, anticipating comparisons between Tubelight and Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Kabir Khan said, “Salman will be seen in a completely different way in the film (Tubelight). If people have thought that Salman’s performance is special in Bajrangi Bhaijaan, then his performance in Tubelight is five times better than it. The audience will see Salman’s better performance in Tubelight.”

Khan has once again come up with new child co-star Matin Rey Tangu and Chinese actress Zhu Zhu. The movie also features Arbaaz Khan and late actor Om Puri. Slated for an Eid release on June 23, Tubelight has certainly got the attention of audience with its touching and heart-warming trailer.
