Dominating the box office for three days since release, Sanjay Dutt’s biopic and Ranbir Kapoor starrer Sanju has achieved a feat that even films like Padmaavat and Race 3 failed to achieve – breaking the highest single day collection record marked by Baahubali 2.

While crafting the storyline of Sanju, Rajkumar Hirani would not have imagined that the Sanjay Dutt biopic would break biggest record of Bollywood someday. And while Salman Khan is called the dude of Bollywood, Hirani’s Sanju starring Ranbir Kapoor proved that content matters. For long, Baahubali and Baahubali 2 have set high benchmarks for Hindi films to break their box-office collection records. Even films like Padmaavat and Race 3 failed to break Baahubali 2’s highest single day collection record of Rs 46.71 crore.

Apparantly, Sanju smashed the box office by a massive opening collection of 120+ crores net in its first weekend – in just three days – making it the highest opening week for Hindi film in 2018. Also, with the mega-collection, Sanju already became the seventh movie to have joined the Rs 100 crore club. And now, the Sanjay Dutt biopic has surpassed Baahubali 2 single day record on Day 3 with a minimal margin of Rs 46.71 crores – making it the the highest single day collection for a Hindi film. It has also been reported that Sanju has become this year’s highest advance booked Bollywood film – taking the box office by its storm.

Perhaps, the biopic based on the colourful of life of Sanjay Dutt and intriguing content pieced together by Hirani – seasoned by intense actors like Ranbir Kapoor, Sonam Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, Dia Mirza, Paresh Rawal, Vicky Kaushal and Manisha Koirala has got many movie takers by its wind.
