Saved the best for the last, Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif’s blockbuster Tiger Zinda hai has collected a record breaking box office revenue of Rs 206 Crore in first week, to break all records of Hindi movies in 2017 and become the biggest film this year.

This definitely dispels any doubts regarding Salman Khan’s ability to release ground-breaking movies, that may have lingered around after the Tubelight dimmed off below its expectations. Tiger Zinda hai, the sequel of Salman Khan’s spy-action thriller movie Ek Tha Tiger made a monster hit in the box office in first week since its launch with a massive revenue of Rs 206 crore. Directed by Abbas Ali Zafar, has overshadowed Golmaal 4’s record of Rs 205 crore lifetime box office collection. With no big releases scheduled in 2017, Salman Khan has cemented their position as the biggest movie in India for 2017 with a figure of Rs 206.04 crore in one week and still counting.

Tiger Zinda Hai, a typical Sallu-style movie laden with action and thrill, drama and a catchy storyline to hold the huge, huge bhai fan base. Interestingly, the storyline of Tiger Zinda Hai is based on the true story of a 2014 kidnapping of Indian nurses by ISIS terrorists, but there are surely those spiced up scenes when Tiger fights the terrorist groups, as a lone wolf. All-in-all, it is a movie that all Salman Khan fans expect, and love to watch. With a double century, Tinger Zinda Hai has joined the club of Khan’s movies like Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Sultan, Prem Ratan Dhan Payo and Kick with lofty distinction earnings.

Here’s more to the records, because the film has earned a total of Rs 339 Crore globally, taking away the title of biggest worldwide grosser among 2017’s Bollywood releases. This is Salman’s fifth movie to be part of the total of 19 films that have crossed Rs 300 Crore benchmark; so with a score of 5, no other actor has reached the list as many time as Salman has. Currently, Tiger Zinda hai stands on 17th highest-grossing film in Indian movie history and with over a week on hand, it should easily gallop into the top 10.
