New Delhi: Under the scheme ‘Power For All’, UP govt announced the free electricity connection to BPL families of urban area, Uttar Pradesh Cabinet Minister Shrikant Sharma on Thursday said.
“Under the government scheme ‘Power for all’, urban dwellers below the poverty line shall receive free electricity connections. This falls under the scheme to provide electricity to entire Uttar Pradesh and seems to be another step to curb theft of electricity prevalent in parts of the state,” Sharma said while addressing a press conference in Lucknow.
Apart from this, he also announced new medical insurance service in UP that has been started already and a new Nagar Panchayat. UP Govt has also taken various steps in providing electricity in each and every region of the state while Centre is also following the same path to 24-hour power supply to district headquarters, 20 hours to Tehsil Headquarters and 18 hours to all villages in the state.
UP CM Yogi Adithyanath expressed gratitude towards the people of UP and feels proud for his party for fulfilling promise made during election portfolio. Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Power Piyush Goyal was in constant supervision with continuous electricity supply that helps state in industrialisation and job creation.
The state government had also vowed to ensure curbing power theft by installing smart meters.
