Dehradun: Bus to Kathmandu can only be found from Delhi only till date but Uttarakhand government is now focused on initiating bus service from the cities of Uttarakhand where people from Nepal residing is in good numbers.

A government official has indicated that Uttarakhand soon can start the bus service straight to Nepal. As of now, there is no direct bus connecting to Nepal from Uttarakhand exists. People, there is dependent on the bus service from Delhi to the Himalayan country.

At present there 3 buses which accelerate from Delhi, New Delhi to Kathmandu, of these two is of the Uttar Pradesh State Roadways Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) and one of the Uttarakhand government.

As there are lots of people who reside in Nepal from Uttarakhand finds difficulty to travel Nepal as they have to catch connecting bus from Delhi. Uttarakhand is eager to give such facility to people where they depart to Nepal in a single shot.

Uttarakhand CM Trivendra Singh Rawat has also expressed that the direct bus service should be launched as soon as it is possible. Many other political parties too have shown keen interest in such a productive step.

A meeting between officials of both sides was slated for July. They were likely to finalise the route, ticket pricing and other modalities, he added. The state transport corporation thereafter would notify the routes and the buses would then start plying.
