27 saal ke baad, they are back together to rock the box offices, but with an entirely unique love story of a father and a son. In the film 102 Not Out, Bachchan is 102 but full of zest while his son Rishi Kapoor at 75, not so much. The one-minute teaser itself is a charm to watch.

“A love story? Thank you but I am good”. Even if that defines your taste for films, the teaser of 102 Not Out will make you want to watch the love story that it is.  And well, the movie is ought to be a must watch for three reasons: one, there’s Amitabh Bachchan; two, there’s Rishi Kapoor; and three, they are back together on screen after 27-long-years. The one-minute long teaser of the duo’s upcoming film was released on Friday and trust me with this, it is something very simple, very sweet that will make you want to watch it. The story itself seems to be something we may have ever watched, even in movies. A love story of a 102-year-old father still filled with life, and his 75-year-old son with not-so-much.

The film 102 Not Out, directed by Umesh Shukla, is based on a Gujarati play by the same name written by Saumya Joshi. In the film, Mr Bachchan plays the role of a 102-year-old oldie, but no oldie (because Budhdha Hoga Tera Baap) and Mr Kapoor plays the role of Bachchan’s 75-year-old son. Now Mr Kapoor may or may not have been a rebellious teenager, but in his 70s, he has to deal with a father who has plans to make a world record by sending his son to an old-age-home. In the teaser, Amitabh says with obvious glee: “Ek putra ko vriddha aashram bhejne wala mai duniya ka pehla baap banunga!” (“I would be the first father of the world who will send his son to an old age home!”) Now tell me if that didn’t catch your attention.

Bachchan, at the age of 102, can be seen taking care of his son and is full of live, young at the heart and enliven with quirky fun. He can be seen playing football, playing a saxophone and dancing in the rain – while his son, comparatively quitter prefers to act his age, yet has a childlike innocence. All in all, the teaser will surely bring a smile on your place and it is perfectly rightly tagged as the “most unusual love story of a father and son”. Now I know youth of India loves all the action and youth of young and freshly vibrant generation, but it is these men who have been around for decades. They are the classics and they ace at what they do. As Mr Bachchan said, the film really seems to be BADUMBAAAAAAAAA!
