The government has recently launched a flagship scheme Ayushman Bharat Yojana or known as National Health Protection Scheme under National Health Agency and to provide maximum accessibility to citizens, the government has launched a website and dedicated helpline for the Ayushman scheme.

Launched by our Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Ayushman Bharat Yojna is intended to protect over 10 crore poor and vulnerable families, providing them cashless coverage of up to Rs 5 lakh per family per year for secondary and tertiary care hospitalization. While launching, Modi said, “It is essential to ensure that we free the poor of India from the clutches of poverty due to which they cannot afford healthcare. It is high time we ensure that the poor of India get access to good quality and affordable healthcare.”

Keeping the promise of covering every person under the Socio-Economic Caste Census and making it digital, the government has launched a dedicated website and a helpline number for the Ayushman Bharat Yojna. The Ayushman Bharat Yojana website can be accessed from here and one can call on the helpline number 14555.Under this scheme, beneficiaries can avail benefits in both the government and private hospitals and there is no cap on family size and age in this mission.

The scheme will be totally cashless and paperless and beneficiaries do not have to pay any charges whether it is a government hospital or it is a private hospital. It will also include the pre-hospital and post-hospital expenses. Currently, Ayushman Bharat scheme is launched on pilot basis in Uttar Pradesh since 4 September and once fully implemented, it will become the world’s largest government-funded health-care program.
