India’s richest family, the Ambanis will soon be hearing wedding bells as reports say Mukesh Ambani’s eldest son Akash will soon be getting married to Shloka Mehta, the youngest daughter of diamantine Russell Mehta.
27-year-old Akash Ambani, arguably considered to be one of the most eligible bachelors in India is soon getting hitched, if reports from sources are to be believed. As per reports, Akash is likely getting married to his school friend Shloka Mehta, the youngest daughter of diamantaire Russel Mehta – the the owner of Rosy Blue Diamonds, one of the world’s leading diamond firms. While both Ambani and Mehta families have refused to make any comments but internal sources have confirmed the news saying, “Yes, Akash Ambani is getting married to Shloka Mehta. However, neither the date for the engagement nor the date for the wedding has been fixed.” Resources from Reliance have said engagement dates might be decided soon.
One of the sources said, “As we speak, no dates have been finalised yet, but, the engagement is likely to happen later this summer while the marriage is slated to happen this year-end.” The source discounted the talks of March 24 as engagement date. “Importantly and to reaffirm that as and when any wedding is finalised, it will only be in India”. On the other hand, a close confidant of Mukesh Ambani reported to The Hindu that, “March 24 is just 20 days from now. We would have known by now. I know both of them studied together at DAIS [Dhirubhai Ambani International School]. But, the family has to decide.”
Akash Ambani and Shloka Mehta has known each other since school days when they studied together in DAIS school and have been close friends for years. Akash, being the eldest son of Mukesh Ambani and twin to his sister Isha, is currently on board with Reliance Retail and Reliance Jio along with his twin sister. On the other hand, Shloka pursued Anthropology at Princeton University, completed her masters in Law from the London School of Economics and Political Science – and is currently the executive director of Rosy Blue Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the Rosy Blue Group. A millionaire and a diamantaire – works well, ain’t it?
