If you wanted to watch Shiva Keshavan cruising on the luge track in his sixth and final Olympics, and Jagdish Singh skiing down South Korean slopes at the Winter Olympics 2018 in Pyeongchang, its good news! The Winter Olympics games will be live streamed in India and the Indian subcontinent including Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal and the Maldives.

On Wednesday, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) announced that the Winter Olympics Games which will open from today, February 9, 2018 – will be live streamed on the Olympic Channel in the entire Indian subcontinent. The live video streaming can be accessed through the Olympic Channel’s website, YouTube Channel and mobile applications. Hence, the Pyeongchang Games can be enjoyed from across India and all neighbouring countries – all one will require is internet connection. Apart from the official streaming, Reliance Jio has bagged the rights to broadcast the live streaming of Winter Olympics on its JioTV app in India.

For Bangladesh, Bhutan, the Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka – he Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union has acquired free-to-air rights. India was left out from receiving live television broadcast, but the digital streaming makes up for the sports enthusiasts to be able to watch the amazing icy Olympics being played in South Korea. This is the first time ever that the Olympic Channel will broadcast the Olympics Games on digital platform. Since it is a 24×7 channel, the videos can be watched in accordance with South Korean local time via internet – from its opening ceremony on February 9th to February 25th, 2018.

The Winter Olympics 2018 in Pyeongchang will feature 102 events for 15 winter sports – making it the first ever Winter Olympics Games to surpass 100 event medal benchmark. The sports will include Alpine Skiing, Biathlon, Bobsleigh, Cross-Country Skiing, Curling, Figure Skating, Freestyle Skiing, Ice Hockey, Luge, Nordic Combined, Short Track Speed, Skeleton, Ski Jumping, Snowboard and Speed Skating. And, just two Indian athletes will be participating in this Games: Shiva Keshavan for Men’s singles Luge and Jagdish Singh for cross-country freestyle skiing.
